role description
Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues, and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies.
Specifically, the candidate will be responsible for engineering large-scale, enterprise-wide technical solutions to meet documented requirements. Deliverables include the creation and testing of technical solution(s), creation of support documentation, technical training of delivery resources and engineering-level support for implemented solutions. Technical focus will be on mobility technologies, including converged devices (HP iPAQ), device security and management (Afaria, Good), Windows Mobile OS, Microsoft Exchange, and mobile connectivity. The candidate will utilize excellent collaboration and teamwork skills in order to ensure alignment and integration across technologies.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to understand business requirements and translate those requirements into cost-effective technical solutions is key. A combination of business maturity, in-depth technical knowledge and leadership skills is required for success.
Technical SkillsMinimum 8 years demonstrated, practical knowledge of mobile connectivity technologies, converged devices, mobile messaging, device security, device management. Minimum 5 years demonstrated, practical knowledge of network technologies, including LAN, firewalls, ISP, DNS/DDNS, DHCP Project management capabilities a plus.
Soft SkillsExcellent demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to present technical concepts to a broad ranch of audiences, including management. Excellent verbal communications. Excellent demonstrated teamwork, including the ability to work across teams, across geographic regions, cultures, etc. Ability to work across the value chain including business representatives, management, architects, service managers, peer engineers and delivery partners.
