500 companies worldwideInterest Category: Operations/MaintenanceJob Description: Performs duties involving surface treating by chemical processes of component parts, assemblies' sub-assemblies and hardware items for a variety of mission program such as general purpose, heavy mobile and tactical type vehicles etc. and systems involving various metal and alloys. Duties will be varied.Perform the following activities under limited indirect supervision in accordance with established procedures:Operate a 500 to 1,000 steam heated gallon vat containing solutions of alkali. Parkerizing and lubberizing chemicals, oil, chromic acid and dichromate solutions for cleaning, treating and finishing steel. Use and apply technical directives to mix solutions accordance with prescribed formulas to obtain desired consistency.Make daily test of strength of Parkerizing and lubberizing solutions to determine presence of desired concentration of proper components including phosphate material to obtain desired consistency. Test chromic acid for solution of proper concentration. Determine when solution requires addition of additives or dilution.Regulate temperatures of tanks to obtain best results. Determine need for cleaning of processing tanks. Work with higher grade electroplaters in the operation of coating a variety of metal parts by use of an electrolytic process in the support of maintenance shop programs. Perform other duties as assigned and qualified.hjlsi06

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements: A minimum of three years of verifiable full time work experience in one of the following environments: electroplating, hydro-blasting, chemical cleaning,or water treatment.High school graduation or equivalent. Fork lift license desired.
