ELECTRICAL JOURNEYMEN - LEVELS 1-3

Electrical Journeymen Levels 1 - 3

Under general supervision perform all aspects of installation, alteration, demolition, maintenance and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, assemblies, and associated materials and equipment on all types of projects within the electrical construction industry.
REQUIREMENTS
Must demonstrate the mechanical aptitude, mathematical and literacy skills to satisfactorily perform the primary duties and responsibilities.

Requires minimum high school diploma or accredited G.E.D. certificate and minimum five (5) years trade related experience.

Depending on the level of experience, tasks may include:

Supervising crews of varying sizes of electrical helpers, workers, apprentices and other journey level personnel.

Possess expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Operate any hand and power tools and equipment necessary to perform all trade related assignments.

Effectively communicate with peers, assistants, project supervision and other job site trade personnel.

Proceed with work from project specific plans and specific plans, specifications, and related contract documents.

Complete single and multiple task assignments involving all aspects of the trade via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, schematics, diagrams, and blueprint reference.

Identify all tools and materials needed for work assignments.

Perform basic assignment layouts and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, and blueprint reference.

Direct, monitor and work along side of employees delegated to assist him / her to ensure safe and timely completion of assignment.

Instructs employees in the correction operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.

Accurate completion of all assignment related paperwork.

Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems and equipment.

Perform EEW, metering, and testing procedures up to 480 volts.

Utilize NEC code as needed.

Understand and comply with Corbins Electric and Customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by Supervisor.

May be called upon to participate and present weekly safety meetings, investigate or assist with incident reporting requirements.

May be called upon to perform the duties of an Apprentice 4, Electrical Worker 4 or other Journey level crew member commensurate with experience.
