Broadband Technician II

The purpose of this position is to install, troubleshoot, and repair technical field problems relating to video, HSD and Digital Telephone, from the Customers Premise Equipment to the first active. Installs and configures NIC, PCMCIA, and other communications networking peripheral drivers, software and hardware.
REQUIREMENTS
(Basic Requirements) All Broadband Technician l requirements
Background in PC Hardware and software
Complete BHN module HSD and Digital Telephone Installation and Repair
BHN Module troubleshooting and repair
NCTI certifications 210 (Installer Technician)
Minimum of 1 year as a Broadband Technician 1
Maintain Departmental Performance Metrics
Successful completion of theoretical and practical assessment
Cable TV exp
(Minimum Requirements) Skills include: driving (valid driver's license and good 5 year driving record), lifting, and carrying equipment(up to 75lbs including ladders) and climbing.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment, including all safety equipment and the use of a two-way radio.
Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, general knowledge of the city and map reading, radio procedures, and basic mathematics.
Ability to organize materials, tools and equipment. Ability to solve technical problems with customers through effective verbal communication.
