Area Technician/PM Technician

The purpose of this position is to install and repair CATV, Digital Phone and HSD in subscriber homes and back to the Headend.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year experience as Maintenance Tech or equivalent. An electronics background is a plus.
Completion of NCTI System Technician and Fiber Installation & Maintenance courses or equivalent is a plus and is required within 24 months.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Attends work on a regular and routine basis.
Perform routine plant maintenance, including P/S checks and Sweep & Balance.
Evaluate, diagnose and repair CATV, Digital Phone and HSD service problems from the TV to the Headend, using equipment such as a field strength meter, cable locator, OTDR, TDR, TV monitor, multimeter, CLI detector and system prints.
Maintains records of system service and repair such as service calls, maintenance work orders, and daily route records.
Recognize and practice safety rules and procedures when performing work tasks.
Set up large plant extensions, forward & reverse.
Assist other techs with service and workloads as required.
Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
