Systems Programmer - Network Specialist [P50049]

Job Description: The ITSC Operations Enterprise Systems Team is seeking a seasoned MVS systems programmer with specialized skills in network technology, TCP/IP, VTAM, VPS, SNA, switches and nodes. This is a highly visible position that requries a working knowledge of MVS and Network Internals within a Z/OS Sysplex environment with multiple IBM mainframes.Senior MVS systems programmer with 10-15 years experience of Enterprise level infrastructure systems who is able to provide complex support from a hardware, systems and operations perspective. Candidate must have the ability to install, maintain, and de-bug MVS/Network system abends. This position also requires knowledge and experience with Assembler language, Clist, and interfaces that require a highly visible MVS systems programming background. The candidate must possess best practice experience and approach regarding all network systems high availability, systems programming, operations process and procedures. Must be highly skilled and experienced in timely and effective problem identification and resolution from a hardware and software, and if needed, applications perspective. Must be experienced in carrying out appropriate preventative maintenance measures and procedures. The ability to install and maintain vendor software in support of Network and Z/OS operating systems and knowledge of VM is a plus. Some experience in application programming and/or system testing and reporting tools is preferred. Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry is preferred.Requires BS/BA in related discipline and 10-15 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise and/or equivalent.
