Sr Staff Programmer

Position Summary

Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents complex operating programs for the company products.


Essential Functions

1.Works with Engineering and Marketing staff to define product requirements.
2.Designs software products using industry-standard design tools and methods.
3.Develops programs using appropriate programming languages.
4.Writes documentation for software.
5.Tests software – identifies and corrects issues.
6.Evaluates existing software with little or no documentation and modifies it to meet new requirements.
7.Develops software project plans and budgets.
8.Coordinates projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to budget.
9.Evaluates and recommends off-the-shelf products.
10.Serves as a resource to team members – answers technical questions and recommends solutions.
11.Maintains a current knowledge of relevant technologies.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities

1.Provides technical support to staff as needed.
2.Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
1.Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or the equivalent in education and experience.
2.Seven years experience programming C++ in a Windows environment and MFC in an XP environment.
3.Experience developing stand-alone applications.
4.Proficient in C++. Knowledge of MSVC 6.0 IDE or .NET IDE.
5.Experience with Java and Windows NT preferred.
6.Knowledge of object–orientated programming.
7.Able to work with minimal specifications and collaborate with other departments to create a comprehensive project outline.
8.Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to work in a team environment.
