Software Release Engineering Manager

The Release Manager will coordinate successful release of proprietary software system platforms and all related third-party components that comprise the application system platform. This position will collaborate with product managers, engineering, professional services, project managers, database administrators, system administrators and quality assurance staff along all phases of the project life cycle to ensure a repeatable and traceable approach to release processes and procedures. You must have experience with solving issues involving iterative development of simultaneous projects with fixed-date release schedules.
REQUIREMENTS
Manage implementation of large-scale software releases and related projects across corporate disciplines.

Establish, implement and manage Release process controls to ensure technical and operational compliance and approval from senior management for release

Expectations:

Will work with product and professional services development teams to identify release deployment needs and be able to adapt quickly to changing needs during the project life cycle.

Will work with Engineering and Product Managers to establish and document release plans and communicate those plans to the necessary stakeholders and senior management.

Will implement release management best practices and standards that can be used from project to project.

Ensure all release processes, policies and procedures are properly communicated and documented.



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

Minimum of 3 years experience in a Software Release Management role

Minimum of 8 years Software Development Industry experience.

Minimum of 3 years working in people, project, or process management with demonstrated skills.

Must have experience with source control management best practices and practical knowledge of source control systems

Understand the deployment of Java applications in an enterprise environment with multiple environments.

Must have experience with the Unix platform including scripting and automationof software builds.

Must have experience tracking deliverables across teams and building combined plans and schedules.

Understand the deployment and management of a relational database system, preferably Oracle

Excellent communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

Strong team building and facilitation skills.
