Senior Web Designer
FILTER/TALENT, a creative staffing agency, successfully places creative and marketing communications professionals into temporary, contract and direct-hire positions. We represent talent within four categories: Design + Production (Print/Web), Creative Management, Marketing + Communications and Advertising, as well as supporting staff such as producers, project managers, copywriters, editors, production artists and presentation specialists, among others.


We are looking for a highly creative visual designer to help define, design, and develop innovative user experiences on a high-profile website in Redmond. A qualified candidate should be able to present a body of work that demonstrates a passion for experience design and that shows a sense of urgency and energy to explore and expand the boundaries of how the Web can be used to solve complex communication and interaction problems.

Work must exhibit strategic breadth, attention to detail, and a sense of balance for aesthetics, innovation and usability, as well as demonstrate experience with diverse content messages intended to support key business goals. It should illustrate a deep understanding of user flow and user behavior as it relates to design.

Responsibilities
Define and manage your individual design schedules
Handle multiple projects with various levels of complexity
Work successfully from initial concept to mock-ups and/or prototypes through final design deliverables
Independently interact with site managers, editors, stakeholders, other UI designers, developers, and other project team members
Manage and art direct vendor and partner agency designers working on site projects
Accountable for the visual excellence, brand coherence, and overall creative quality of all site content under their supervision REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's or advanced degree in graphic design, broadcast design, interface, information, interaction design, design planning, communications, marketing, humanities, social sciences, or human-centered design preferred.
Must possess excellent conceptual and technical design skills.
5+ years of web and technology design experience within a broad-scope agency/consultancy environment, preferably on projects with multi-national or worldwide distribution requirements.
Mastery of key design software tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Freehand. Skilled with InDesign, Acrobat, PowerPoint, Visio a plus.
Expertise in prototyping methods and developing and maintaining UI guidelines for multiple projects, including defining corporate-wide site standards.
Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Must possess excellent verbal skills and strong creative leadership abilities.
Must be able to thrive in a highly collaborative design environment where individual excellence and making others great are both specific goals for performance evaluation.


Plusses:
Interactive media (Flash, DHTML, etc.) experience.
Advertising, brand, and marketing conceptual design experience.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
