Senior Systems Administrator

Under general supervision, this position provides a high level of technical expertise to perform or direct the work of others in installations, configurations and the maintenance of the operating systems of workstations, servers and mid-size to large computer systems, to meet long-term requirements of systems operations and maintain the integrity and reliability of the system.
REQUIREMENTS
A significant knowledge and understanding of operating systems and database environments as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in computer science.

Must have sufficient educational background and/or experience to qualify incumbent to work at the highest technical level on all phases of system administration. Five - seven years experience working in Microsoft and TCP/IP environments required.

Knowledge and proven skill with highly complex network technologies required. Additionally, knowledge and skill with hardware and software required for connectivity and installation operations as described above.

Knowledge and proven skill with large, complex database environments required. Additionally, a significant knowledge and proficient skill with hardware required for connectivity and installation operations as described above.

Must posses the ability to communicate well with others to perform work in a team environment, direct and act as a resource for less experienced systems administrators as described above.

A thorough knowledge of documentation and communication software necessary to maintain and communicate information as described above.

Must posses the ability to communicate well with others, to perform work in a team environment, direct and act as a resource for less experienced network administrators and relay necessary information as appropriate.

Must possess the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
