Senior SQL Programmer / DBA

Duties
The Senior SQL Programmer reports to the Development Manager. The Senior SQL Programmer assists other departments in extracting, updating, inserting and deleting data as business needs require. The Senior SQL Programmer is the expert on the design of the database, its uses, limitations and weaknesses. This information is shared among developers so they may make informed decisions on how to best approach the data related elements of their tasks. This position is also responsible for creating, maintaining and supporting data imports from other systems. The Senior SQL Programmer has intimate knowledge of tables, their uses and the data that is stored in them. This position may also be called upon to troubleshoot complex customer service issues. The DBA Administers, plans, coordinates, implements and maintains computerized databases and develops policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the database. Designs data models, performs imports, monitors the database for potential problems, and creates end user reports. Confers with other departments to maximize the value of the data and determine impact of changes on other systems. The DBA is also expected to assist in troubleshooting scalability and performance issues. Establishes and maintains policies, procedures and standards relating to database management, in particular database tests restores. Finally this position is expected to lead less experienced ColdFusion Developers, report to the Development Manager regarding personnel needs and concerns and perform direct report reviews.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to program in SQL (test required prior to employment)
- Experience with DTS and 3rd party integration preferred.
