This position is responsible for analyzing, programming and testing activities to maintain and enhance insurance software applications. This person will apply insurance and information system knowledge to improve the cost effective utilization of insurance systems. This person will also provide technical support to IT staff for the implementation of new systems/solutions, enhancements and maintenance of installed systems. This position requires a detail-oriented, highly energetic person who can write programming code that is complex in nature. Candidates must have excellent communications skills, be highly proficient in mainframe programming, with the ability to work together as part of a dynamic team. Responsibilities include working closely with Business Analysts and business clients to build positive relationships, develop project charters and/or action plans, develop use cases, work with the business analyst or business clients to analyze requirements and make suggestions to improve business processes. REQUIREMENTS
Required skills include COBOL, JCL, VOLLIE, SQL queries and documentation abilities. Candidates must also have a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and 8 plus years related experience in COBOL programming development and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous insurance industry experience a plus.
