Pricing Systems Analyst

This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the databases that feed competitive price shops, price optimization software, product linking relationships, hierarchy changes for the merchandise group, as well as all data integrity relating to pricing. In addition to maintaining this data, this position will be responsible for continually improving the processes that are used to update this data.
Other duties will include:
Creates and evolves the organization of data in relation to pricing and competitive information. This includes but is not exclusive to price shop data, competitive locations, point stores, product linking, price optimization data, and price zone data. Works closely with IS and other pricing personnel to ensure data accuracy as well as efficient use of the data. Handles changes to the merchandise hierarchy that occur throughout the year. Assists merchandise group in determining accuracy and reporting on status code and merchandise code changes. Will effectively communicate to merchandise on items that have incorrect status codes/merch codes. Communicates consistently with field personnel to solve any issues regarding data integrity issues as it relates to pricing, competitive, and sku data. Assist merchandise/operations/IS in improving the price label effectiveness at store level. Assists space planning group in accurate data to drive correct price changes/price tags for POG/promotional implementation.
Gathers data in a qualitative and quantitative fashion, reporting to the IS/merchandise department in order to help ensure data accuracy. Understands and ensures accuracy of data for price optimization software to be most effective. Interacts on a regular basis with IS, merchandise, and operations to ensure flawless execution of price changes.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Economics or Business from four-year college or university and three to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail experience preferred. Also, a strong desire to learn the systems that drive PETSMART’s pricing activity, ability to demonstrate strong analytical skill set. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of advertising, marketing, merchandising. Desire to learn SAP, price optimization software, promotional software, as well as Access and Excel.
