Responsible for leading the departments that provision, test, and turn-up the
Data, Voice, SMS, and ISP products that DeltaCom offers. Desired candidate must
be familiar with loop ordering, network diagrams, data, voice, and ISP
platforms.
This will include, but not be limited to, DS0, DS1, DS3, Frame Relay, ATM,
MPLS, IP/VPN, Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint Data orders, Local and Long
distance voice services for line-side connections as well as trunk-side
connections.
Handle order activity/escalations with LECs, IXCs and CLECs, DeltaCom
technicians and sales personnel. Participates in OJT programs to provide
training and enhance job skills.
Provides status reports to upper management as requested. Ability to accesses
and utilizes various databases for the purpose of identifying elements of a
data, voice, or isp circuit along with being able to interpret circuit routing
and Network configurations.
Utilize Remedy Ticket System to track maintenance activities and access test
sets through remote terminals to test circuits.
Other duties and projects as assigned by management.Skills, Experience, Education or Other Requirements Needed for this Job:
High school diploma or GED and an Associate degree in Electronics or related
field preferred.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years related experience is required. Supervisor or
Management skills are a plus.
Experience with Lucent Frame/ATM networks or Cisco IP networks a plus. A good
understanding of the following: Frame Relay, ATM, TCP/IP, HP open view, UNIX
operating system commands, Nortel DMS, Lucent 5ESS, 3/1 Dacs, 1/0 Dacs, Adtran
4303, Jetvision, & Genview.
The ability to use Bit Error Rate Test sets, troubleshoot and isolate network
problems that affect the turn up of data, local, long distance services is a
plus.
The working knowledge of network elements along with understanding of all
phases of testing and documentation of DS0 and DS1 (Analog and Digital) circuits
is required.
Requires computer literacy.
Should be familiar with office automation software, Man to Machine Interface
