At our tertiary care hospital, you'll encounter the meaningful challenges you seek.Candidates must have three to six years experience with a focus on Windows 2000/2003 server and Linux Operating Systems. MCSE 2000/2003 preferred, and be comfortable supporting a dynamic environment consisting of over one hundred Windows (NT, 2000 and 2003) based servers operating on multiple hardware platforms (Dell, and HP/COMPAQ). Candidate will effectively handle and prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate good communication and organizational skills. Practical experience with VB, WSH and Perl scripting is a plus. Participation in an off-hours on-call rotation is required. Responsibilities include: Design, plan, implement and maintain network upgrades and enhancements. Assesses the needs of users and department, evaluate alternatives, and makes recommendations of hardware and software to solve problems and improve efficiency. Develops, implements and maintains procedures for backup and recovery of network servers and configuration files of other network devices. Resolve OS and hardware failure incidents across multiple technology platforms (VMWare, Windows, MS Clustering, Blades, SAN). SLA compliance with security and maintenance patch management. Practical experience with build-out and re-engineering Wintel based solutions. Familiarity / working knowledge of IIS (4, 5, and 6), FTP, DNS, DHCP, Routing, SNMP and POP/SMTP settings and administration. Experience with RDP/Terminal Services and remote server setup and support. Communicate effectively with internal customers in conjunction with Magic Service desk Basic knowledge of network administration/troubleshooting, CISCO router administration, routing, and network security. Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, NFS, DFS, SAN, NAS, Active Directory and Linux. Working knowledge of Altiris NS and DS for Windows, Veritas NetBackup/BackupExec, MS Clustering, Citrix, VMware ESX, Altiris, and RDP. Excellent oral and written communication skills Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills EDUCATION: ?General 2 years of college or equivalent post-high-school education Bachelor's degree in IT or MIS related field preferred ?Specialized Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) preferred Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) preferred CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ preferred Make a Difference in a child's life.
