Java Developer

Purpose: Our client, based in Orange County, is looking for a Java J2EE developer for a contract position.

The daily duties include new development of Java applications. The candidate will be working on their own and in a team environment, supporting current systems and developing new applications for both the I.T. and Business needs. Working with analysts to ensure the proper guidelines are met with new development and working with management to produce a quality product on time is essential. Other duties may include participation in meetings regarding new development (working with stakeholders to understand and define the business requirements) and QA of existing/new development efforts.

The candidate should have 6-9 years of development experience with 5 years of Java. Ideally, the client is looking for 5 years of J2EE/EJB experience to help design enterprise applications. Experience profiling/and or performance tuning Java applications is highly desirable. Experience with JDBC, XML/XSLT, Web Services, Database Access Object Layer or Mapping technologies such as Hibernate and design patterns.

Pluses: Hibernate, JBoss and experience with AGILE methodologies

Our client is looking to interview candidates as soon as possible. This is a contract position, Monday-Friday.
