JOB BRIEF:
Infrastructure Analyst
TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in CIS, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, or degree appropriate for assignment. Demonstrated experience architecting and/or integrating systems in multiuser, multiplatform, multitasking operating systems environments (i.e., Windows, Unix, OS/390). Significant experience and knowledge in application development, new desktop and server computing infrastructures and the implementation of networked computer structures is desired.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ability to analyze and learn rapidly changing technologies, developing infrastructure components that support business requirements. Strong analytical and conceptual skills, including ability to develop original concepts and/or theories. Ability to operate within a team environment. Strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of multiple technical areas across the enterprise system environment, including experience in many, but not all, of following: Experience developing in .Net, GIS and/or XML. Experience managing computers in an Active Directory environment. Knowledge of wireless technologies. Experience with Windows 2003 Server and domain planning, design, and implementation. Technical knowledge of Windows 2003 Server, IIS, Exchange, HP servers, and server management tools. Technical knowledge of Ethernet, VLANs, network switches, servers, routers, and hubs. Experience in network security architecture, design and operation of DMZs, Internet Services, Proxies, and Checkpoint Firewalls. Knowledge of NT/UNIX Server architecture, network protocols and network management tools.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Working closely with technical specialists, designs and implements shared enterprise infrastructure required to meet business unit objectives and system requirements. Participates in providing infrastructure vision and problem anticipation and solving on an enterprise level. Proactively assists in defining infrastructure direction through participation in projects such as disaster recovery, integration services, instant messaging, identity management, GPS, GIS, content management, portals and mobile computing. Interacts with infrastructure project personnel, providing technical consistency across infrastructure projects. Conceives infrastructure solutions, assists in building consensus, and implements solutions. Participates in projects of varying type and scope, providing significant opportunities to learn new technologies.
