Essential Functions: 50% - Assists and trains students and staff in using AutoCAD hardware and software to complete assignments; prepares classroom; aids instructor with phases of information/training regarding lab operations.
30% - Installs software;monitors software and hardware performance; troubleshoots software problems, network connections and other instructional equipment in order to maintain multimedia lab functionality for students and staff; provides minor maintenance assistance to computers as necessary; reports problems with the instructional equipment to the Help Desk.
20% - Writes documentation of procedures as they are developed and updates regularly; assists with student orientation; performs related duties as needed by the assigned supervisor.Job Summary: Assists students in an AutoCAD lab by providing software on AutoCAD 2005-2007 software, preferably including Architectural Desktop and land Development Desktop in a laboratory setting. May use writing software, spreadsheet and other computer programs. Provides technical and instructional assistance for an AutoCAD curriculum. Monitors and helps maintain classroom computers and network. Works with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications: - Experience using AutoCAD software version 2005-2006 or later
Experience working with a networked environment using WIN NT/2000 or WIN XP
Experience analyzing and interpreting documentation as well as writing documentation for new procedures, performing maintenance tasks on microcomputers as well as other instructional equipment
Experience maintaining inventory of supplies, following established procedures
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writingDesired Qualifications: - Minimum two (2) years recent experience using AutoCAD software; exposure to AutoCAD 2007 software
Experience with installation, configuration and maintenance of computer programs in a multi-user environmentSpecial Working Conditions: Positions in this class may be required to lift up to 50 lb. objects and may be exposed to building materials when installing cable; evening, weekends and late afternoons may be required.
