Data Network Operations Center Technicians are responsible for the isolation and
repair of complex data troubles, training other Maintenance and Network
Operations Center (NOC) personnel on all aspects of troubleshooting and proper
ticket management, provides reports and special support to Chronic Data issues,
and supports internal Deltacom groups such as Engineering, Provisioning, and
Sales and other communication companies supporting the Deltacom infrastructure
as it relates to the customer base.
On a daily basis, monitor network using NetCool, tests, troubleshoots, and
restores many types of data services, including Frame Relay, ATM, Point to
Point, Point to Multipoint, DS0, DS-1/T1, DS-3/T3, OCn, xDSL, DNS, RADIUS, VoIP,
VoATM, VoIP, Metro Ethernet, router configuration involving Internet routing,
and other types of services. Works with LEC’s, ILEC’s, IXC’s, CLECs, and Peering
partners directly to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Highly experienced in most of the following systems, devices and/or programs:
Lucent BSTDX9000, CBX500, Cisco 65xx, 75xx, 76xx, 120xx GSR, Nortel Firewall
Shasta product, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS). Transport equipment to
include Nortel, Lucent, Cisco, DACS’ and Multiplexers made by ALCATEL, TELLABS,
ADTRAN, data testing systems by Hekimian (REACT-2001), thoroughly familiar with
all facets of email and DNS operations and problems associated with each.
Applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, MetaSolv Order Processing system,
Remedy Ticketing System, AS/400 and, familiarity with UNIX/LINUX commands and
operations. Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Prefer a 4-Year Degree in Computer Science or related discipline orTechnical
School Certificate such as ECPI with advanced experience.
3 - 5 years related experience with extensive experience dealing with and
resolving customer troubles in a NOC environment.CCNA required, CCNP preferred.
