Description:
APS Healthcare is looking for a high energy individual who enjoys a challenge and has excellent organizational and time management skills. This is an aggressive position that allows for interdepartmental expertise in working with the System / Database Administration and Operational areas to develop various system applications, problem solve software issues, meet changes that occur as business needs evolve. This individual will develop and maintain security and confidentiality standards, as well as internal systems for compliance and reporting requirements. This position is responsible for coordinating reports and customer/technical interfaces. Focus is placed on continual improvement in the delivery of service to APS customers, both internal and external, while maintaining compliance with governmental, healthcare and other applicable standards. This individual performs a wide variety of tasks related to software and program development and internal / external customer support. This individual works closely with the support staff for several different applications and at times will need to direct their work as a back up for the department supervisor. This individual will also be asked to assist in some training efforts as they relate to product and system development.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Ability to collaborate with all departments to meet project goals and/or deadlines.
2. Investigates and researches staff inquiries, reporting questions, system errors, etc, and provides staff updates as necessary.
3. Responsible to ensure timely completion of projects as assigned with providing updates to team leader
4. Assists employees in the correction of inaccurate and inconsistent entries in the various data management systems.
5. Product development assistance.
6. Participates in testing and auditing of programs and procedures.
7. Assists staff in training efforts as needed for new products and applications.
8. Coordinates and assists in the maintenance of departmental documentation of workflows and policies.
9. Participate in system / database upgrades
10. Coordinates and assists in data imports, exports and extracts.
11. Serves as technical liaison with IS staff for system development and implementation of new and existing business.
12. Participates in implementation and development of new products and contracts.
13. Promotes and fosters positive departmental and interdepartmental communication.
14. Performs and Coordinates System / Database Administrator functions including some of the following Setting up letter templates Creating and maintaining benefits Creating new users Maintaining drop down lists Assessment creation and maintenance Maintaining other tables 15. Executes and coordinates system reports using SQL and other application tools
16. Provides report-building and maintenance input.
17. Generates and coordinates additional reports as identified and assigned.
18. Maintains thorough working knowledge of all products and data management systems
19. Participates as an active member on teams, committees, and other organization needs as identified and assigned.
20. Responsible for the troubleshooting of technical problems and the coordination of the troubleshooting and resolution with the IT department.
21. Maintains responsibility for preserving the member’s confidentiality. This includes recognizing that member information is disseminated only per signed release, as mandated by state and/or federal law, and on a need to know basis. A yearly confidentiality statement will be reviewed and signed.

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Four years proven work experience Previous experience in any of the following: Claims Utilization Management Care Management Disease Management Health Care Industry Insurance Product Development Training Experience in research and the ability to extract information from printed and automated resources on a regular basis Other Qualifications: Strong verbal, written and telephonic communication skills Strong meeting organization skills Excellent follow-up skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong keyboarding skills; typing, word processing, data entry, and ten-key Ability to maintain friendly and professional demeanor in a fast-paced work environment Knowledge of health care industry or similar background helpful Excellent working knowledge of various relational databases and reporting tools including Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports, SQL Explorer Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education:
Post Secondary Education or Technical Degree.
