Job Description: Summary
This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Business Intelligence projects on behalf of the business. This includes program management, project reporting, task coordination and effective communication; understanding and experience with implementing systems using database platforms is needed. You will possess excellent project management skills, provide program leadership and assist ITS in the management and delivery of BI projects. The BI Program Manager will also understand existing systems and development guidelines, and drive efforts toward future directions.
The BI Program Manager will be responsible for identifying and coordinating resolution of data quality issues which may require significant partnership with IS areas and Customer areas. This position will ensure the quality of the BI corporate data model and the BI project models.
The BI Program Manager will be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert in all of the delivery tools supported at DHL not restricted to but including DataStage and Cognos.
Tasks & AccountabilitiesDevelops and maintains excellent customer relationships, and has a full understanding of their business processes and needs.Effectively uses Project Management skills to manage time, scope, cost, quality, communication and risk within each project.Works closely with vendor project managers to track their progress and ensure on-time, within budget project delivery.
Provides the senior management team with regular project performance status, variances to plan, and identification of corrective action (if required).Performs functional analysis, requirements definition and program management oversight for BI application development teams.Analyzes business processes and flows to translate business requirements and the development of IS solutions for business functions.Identifies and resolves gaps in business processes, data quality, and integrated systems.At higher levels, provides functional guidance, advice, and/or training to less experienced BI professionals.
Skills & QualificationsRequires BS/BA in related discipline and 10-15 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise or MS/MA and generally at least 8-12 years of experience in related field or equivalent.
PMP certification is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts, processes and systems required.
Strong communication skills and project management experience are a must.
Must demonstrate mastery of existing and emerging technologies, processes, and practices required.
Must have a strong systems background, good communication and leadership skills, teamwork and consensus building skills.Must have demonstrated ability to consistently achieve desired results; have strong multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and be a self-starter with actively takes initiative on issues with systems.
