Analyst, Lead I/II BTD (Oracle Portal)

Under minimal direction, manages all aspects of Oracle Portal environment, ensuring maximum availability of environment and adapting quickly to business needs. Responsible for maintenance of Oracle Portal and accompanying systems including: Oracle Application Server, Oracle Internet Directory (OID) Servers, CoreID, and Grid Control. Responsible for monitoring Oracle Portal environment for performance, capacity, network, server, and high availability issues. Responsible for resolving the above issues in Oracle Portal environment. Assists with infrastructure tasks related to Portal, including providing information that will help with server configurations, firewall configurations, Blue Coat configurations, load-balancing configurations DNS modifications, and application deployments. Manages Identity Management System (OID) ensuring feeds are working properly and employees and other users are able to access Portal environment. Manage Oracle Application Servers to ensure applications are deployed in a highly available manner and to ensure system resources are efficiently used. Responsible for installing various software applications as needed. Applies patches to various software applications as needed. Resolve trouble tickets related to Portal. Complete technology requests as assigned. Communicate with Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for maintenance outages, new or updated procedures, and any architectural changes. Communicate with System Analyst with application development, deployment, or issues. Communicate with System Administrators concerning server issues, server tasks, software installation, and software patching. Communicate with Network Administrators concerning network issues or tasks. Communicate effectively with management any outstanding problems, challenges, or other impediments to a successful operation of the Portal environment. Develop thorough knowledge of business. Manages or provides input to project management plans. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents and scripting tools (PERL or KSH) needed to automate routine tasks in environment. Maintain and develop documentation concerning Portal environment architecture. Responsible for 24X7 support.
REQUIREMENTS
Union: NoEducation: Bachelors DegreeExperience: 3 - 5 YearsPosition Requirements: CS/CE/CIS/MIS or related degree, plus experience.
4+ years of professional IT experience with web applications and protocols including: Apache, Tomcat, OC4J, Oracle Application Server, PERL, CGI, HTML, XML, and DNS.
2+ years experience with Linux OS.
Experienced with high-availability concepts including clustering and load-balancing.
Must be able to diagnose web application problems and have a good understanding of how to resolve problems.
Must understand TCP/IP stack and tools needed to diagnose network traffic.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, adapt quickly, and manage multiple tasks.
Demonstrated ability to install and patch 3rd party applications with little guidance or supervision.
Oracle Portal knowledge a plus.
Airline business systems knowledge a plus.
