JOB DESCRIPTION
Work closely with Sr. Director of Training and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, develop, format, review, and modify programs to include classroom-based instruction, distance learning solutions, performance aides, implementation planning, training curriculum design, and learning materials development.
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Training Developer:
• Work with training development team to develop highly effective, results-oriented training.
• Write storyboards, scripts, lesson plans and develop training support packages and other instructional material.
• Develop, review, and provide technical assistance for training programs to include computer-based training, programmed texts, video tapes and films, visual aides, job aides, lesson plans, and other training support material.
• Prepare and submit reports as required.
• Review deliverables at the 33%, 66%, and final completion stages – or more as required.
•Review training requirements, conduct front-end analysis, and assist with training evaluations (formative and summative).
LMS Administrator:
•Act as the primary support contact and authority for technical & functional LMS related issues
•Assure effective and efficient operation of the LMS to meet end users needs
•Continuous improvement in the development and utilization of enhanced features that will allow business objectives to be met.
•Responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the Learning Management System.
•Develop processes and define scope of the user management function for all portal and user options, permissions and settings.
•Address technical bugs and other system issues from identification through resolution. Communicate with LMS software vendor.
•Conduct user acceptance testing.
•Master all administrator and user module functions within LMS.
•Develop customized reporting to assist administrators, users and management with business decisions.
•Support. Provide direction regarding proper procedure and usage of the Learning Management System.
•Support all back-end team members (global training administrators) in the functionality and management of Learning Portals.
•Assist front-end users (Hotel Managers) in the usage of Training Portals.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Broad understanding of web technologies and a background in instructional design and/or online learning theory required.
• Previous training experience an asset.
SKILLS
•Demonstrated effective coaching and leadership skills
•Demonstrated effective knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2003
•Understanding of web design and company intranet Management
•Understanding of webinars and their use is an asset
•Understanding of “Pod casting” and Apple ipod? products an asset
•Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, complete important time sensitive tasks, adapt quickly to last minute changes and manage multiple projects
•Demonstrated ability to think creatively and exhibit flexibility toward new/different learning environments and approaches
•Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills (across all levels of the organization)
•Proven organizational and interpersonal skills, plus proven relationship building abilities
•Demonstrates good time management and organizational skills
•Detailed oriented
•Solid understanding of principles of adult learning
•ASTD or training association is a plus
