Description:
Including, but not limited to:
Provides an employee relations service for the managers of US based employees and the US client group.
Supports the global client group for compensation and benefits services.
Manages the global, annual compensation surveys, providing analysis and recommendations to support management decisions
Assists in the analysis and development of company wide compensation programs, practices, policies and strategies; including the administrative processes/procedures and employee communications.
Manages the annual merit and other incentive programs for established client groups
Manages the analysis, design and implementation of variable pay plans, including but not limited to annual incentive plans, equity based incentive plans, sales commission plans.
Specific work and knowledge development regarding the unique and proactive needs and plans for expats regarding compensation and benefits.
Liaison with payroll regarding compensation issues, expatriate compensation, as well as responses to and analysis of compensation surveys, including variable compensation
Provides vacation back up for US and Canada payroll administration.
Prepares or assists with creating global job descriptions and maintains job description library on HR intra-net.
Advises HR team and employees on interpretation of compensation and benefit programs.
Assists in the determination of pay rates for new hires, lateral transfers, promotions
Provides back up for the administration of the retirement and savings plans (DCPP, RRSP, 401k, and non-qualified savings plans) this includes, but is not limited to processing enrolments, changes, terminations and member maintenance.
Provides back up for the calculation of the monthly premiums statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.
Plans, develops, and redesigns company retirement, savings, deferral or benefits programs which appropriate.
Responsible for the pension data collection process including coordination of annual audit, year end, and any required annual pension statements
Responsible for the auditing and reconciliation of pension data and premium billings for all pension and group savings plans
Manage the relationship with Employee Equity Plans Administration providers
Co-ordination and distribution of retirement and benefits communications to employees
Develop, maintain and update benefits information documents/forms, policies etc. as required
Works on other related benefits projects - relocation administration and management
Prepares custom and ad hoc reporting to support the requirements of the department and the organization
Employee facing - this role includes specific contact as required with employees regarding issue resolution on benefits related issues, when requiring escalation.
Project work - beyond role specific projects, the individual in this role will be expected to play a role in key HR initiatives and projects, as a resource to the field, and as a key part of the North American HR team.
Requirements:
University degree in Human Resources or Business and completion of, or working towards a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and/ or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) would be advantageous
A minimum of seven years experience in a US Generalist HR and Compensation and Benefits role. This must include recent experience of proactively managing complex US employee relations issues
Comprehensive experience of North American compensation and benefits. Exposure to international compensation and benefits would be advantageous.
Experience using PeopleSoft would be highly desirable
Expert working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
Enjoys working in a fast paced environment
