Resource Manager
The Resource Manager role is an internal consultant to our business, and will partner effectively with the aligned business leaders to analyze, plan, recommend and implement workforce strategy and staffing initiatives to ensure the number and type of resources needed to deliver client services and support business growth. The Resource Manager will provide advice, counsel, and problem solving on a wide range of staffing/resource issues, including headcount budgeting, recruitment and training needs, internal staff movement, and staffing alternatives. The Resource Manager will be a key liaison with many areas, including Human Resources, Recruiting Services, and Learning & Development, and will partner with the business to ensure compliance with Hewitts policies, processes and practices.
Some of the duties of the Resource Manager may include:
FY Project and Headcount Planning: Work with managers and business leaders to proactively determine associate needs, including number of resources and types and talent required by month over a 12 month period. Work with client team management, recruiting, and learning to facilitate timing and deployment of people resources. Facilitate overall staffing strategy.
Headcount Management: Manage headcount to budget. Work with practice leaders to oversee the headcount tracking process. Provide reporting to business leaders monthly on budget to forecast to actual. Perform analysis and consult on capacity utilization, attrition, and experience.
Talent Management: Maintain and monitor local talent inventory and planning information. Work with business leaders to identify candidates, gaps in bench strength, collaboration of talent and talent mix needs.
Staffing Operations and Coordination: Work closely with the business leaders and client team management to coordinate, facilitate, and oversee the placement and movement of internal staff to fill needs for projects and plan for anticipated needs. Track and maintain needs by client/project as well as associate project assignments and availability. Use reporting listing associate skills and preferences to make recommendations for internal candidate fulfillment. Facilitate the communication process of short term and long term needs.
L&D and Recruiting Liaison: Consult with Recruiting on understanding staffing needs, requirements, and timing of hires. Communicate external candidate needs to Recruiting. Coordinate with Learning to facilitate timing of courses for new hires and overall associate development needs.
REQUIREMENTS
* A passion for problem-solving, and an ability to partner effectively with multiple areas of our business to assess/analyze issues, brainstorm solutions, gain appropriate buy-in, and drive solutions to completion.
5-10+ years of progressively responsible, broad-based business background in large, complex organizations. Previous people management preferred. Knowledge of HR, outsourcing, recruiting, staffing plans and staffing models would be helpful.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal), consulting, persuasion, and negotiation skills. Proven meeting and facilitation skills.
Strong project management skills, and knowledge of project methodologies, SDLC, and the staffing/resource needs from a project perspective.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
Working knowledge of software and tools necessary for analysis and tracking, such as Excel.
Experience with Six Sigma would be a plus.
