Program, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator
The Oregon Department of Transportation was established in 1969 to provide a safe, efficient transportation system that supports economic opportunity and livable communities for Oregonians. ODOT develops programs related to Oregon’s system of highways, roads, and bridges; railways; public transportation services; transportation safety programs; driver and vehicle licensing; and motor carrier regulation.PROGRAM, RECRUITMENT AND OUTREACH COORDINATORThe Program, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator will provide advice, counsel and support to agency managers, employees and HR staff on HR-related issues, including diversity as well as coordinating the Agency's special recruitment programs, outreach initiatives, and pre-employment checking processes. This position requires extensive knowledge of personnel laws, rules, policies and practices.As Program, Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator, you will:
Program Coordination;
•Coordinates and serves as subject matter expert advisor on special recruitment programs including the Graduate Engineering Program; Summer High School/College Engineer Trainee Programs; Youth Litter Patrol; PROMISE Program, H.I.R.E. and the Transportation Maintenance Trainee Program.
•Assists with design, implementation and monitoring of new programs to meet the changes and challenges of the Agency.
Diversity Counsel Advisor;
•Participate in bi-monthly Diversity Council meetings as a technical resources/advisor, providing research, suggestions and best practice methods to inquiries.
•Works in conjunction with council members, Chief HR officer (Vice-Chair), Employment and Diversity Manager, Office of Civil Rights and AAP/EEO Coordinator ensuring smooth and consistent delivery of information.
Outreach Coordination;
•Conduct research and work with supervisors and HR Managers to respond to applicant shortages in the areas contained in the AAP and difficult-to-fill classifications.
•Serves as Job/Career Fair Facilitator/Coordinator/Promoter/Attendee.
•Research and recommend organizational affiliations, associations, societies and special interest groups to increase employment opportunities and Agency awareness.
Recruitment and Retention;
•Provide training on recruitment practices and processes to new recruiters and management personnel.
•Mentor and coach ODOT in the areas of recruitment, retention and outreach.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Include:
•A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority; OR
•Valid Certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, and one-year Human Resource experience; OR
