OD Project Manager

Education: Doctoral degree from respected Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology program or related area.
Experience: 1 - 3 years prior experience conducting applied research and evaluation projects in a professional business setting. Prefer experience with large, name-brand company or consulting firm.Technical Skills
Proficiency with SPSS and MS Office is required
Expertise with personnel selection and assessment, including cognitive, biodata, personality, and leadership measures. Online assessment experience preferred.
Experience in multiple data collection strategies including surveys, individual and group interviewing and facilitation
High level of understanding of experimental and quasi-experimental designs, including quantitative analysis and understanding of multivariate statistics.
Familiar with the legal and ethical aspects of tests and measurements including EEOC requirements.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft, MS Access or other HR Information Systems is preferredProject and Job Responsibilities
Projects are likely to include:
Competency modeling and job analysis
Assessment administration, scoring, reporting, cut-scores, analyses, database management
Test development and validation
Criterion development
Performance appraisals and measurement
Web-based surveys (e.g., Surveytracker or Perseus software)
Organizational development (e.g., defining and measuring aspects of culture, satisfaction, engagement, etc.)
Will lead some projects, manage portions of other projects, and function as consultant or facilitator on still other projects.
Full-time position.
Typical level of travel involves one to three trips per year, plus SIOP.
Highly competitive salary commensurate with work experience. This is a management-level job with a profit-sharing bonus.Social Environment
Will function on a small team of I-O professionals in an open, collaborative environment within the larger JCPenney culture
Must be able and willing to work independently, leading and managing all aspects of large-scale research projects to successful completion.
Must be able to promote effective relationships, characterized by mutual respect and dialogue
Significant exposure to senior executives
HR Research team has a strong people development culture
Examples of Deliverables
May be expected to develop and deliver presentations via satellite TV broadcasts to large audiences
May be expected to develop and make presentations to and interact with senior executives.
Must produce executive and technical reports for a variety of business and professional audiences
May be expected to design and implement an organizational development plan (e.g., organizational culture change, performance feedback, etc.)

Emotional Control: Effectively monitors self and others and maintains awareness of and sensitivity to social situations. Socially perceptive, skilled at upward influence.
Retail: Knowledge of retail industry and business processes is preferred but not required.
