Leave of Absence Specialist

We are recruiting a Leave of Absence Specialist to join our Corporate Human Resources Department in Commerce, CA.99¢ Only Stores is a $1 billion, 10,000 employee, NYSE publicly traded company. We sell all items for 99 cents or less that include brand name and private label food and beverages, health and beauty aids, household goods, toys and much more! From our first store opening in 1982, the Company's chain of stores has expanded to over 240 in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas.Summary:
This position will support and coordinate all benefit activities related to leave of absence benefits. This position requires someone with a high degree of integrity, ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, and who demonstrates a sense of urgency, purpose, good organizational skills and teamwork.Essential Functions:
Research and resolve employee/HR questions relative to various leaves of absence; support benefits specialists with leave information as subject matter expert.
Review, approve, and track leaves of absence; ensure employees receive required forms; track and reconcile benefit contribution remittances from leave employees.
Report on leave statistics.
Make recommendations for process improvement.
Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse population, from entry-level workers to senior management.
Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks and projects with little supervision.
Knowledge of leave of absence administration and benefits plans.
Excel skills preferred.
Strong understanding of FMLA – CFRA, CA-PDL regulations.Qualifications:
High School Diploma required.
College degree preferred.
