EXPECTED RESULTS:
Build a strong relationship with the workforce, union bargaining committee and the management group resulting in a collaborative, results-oriented environment. Ensure the workforce meets operations' expected needs, including skills sets, behaviors and knowledge. Educate, support and counsel employees in the areas of staffing, employee relations, performance management, talent development and regulatory compliance. SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES: Assist with employee relations including counseling, reporting and assisting management with staff issues. Provide guidance and coaching through team and individual feedback. Participate in Labor/Management and other joint committees as assigned. Conduct grievance and disciplinary investigations, present recommendations to management; prepare for discipline and/or grievances by providing arguments, documents (exhibits), and witnesses; influence management decisions. Partner with employees and management to communicate HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations. Assist in the development, implementation and interpretation of company policies and procedures. Assists in the implementation and maintenance of training programs. Identify opportunities and recommends necessary skills training for workforce. Develop and facilitate/provide training to the workforce; include compliance training, new hire orientation, leadership training programs, etc. Identifies, screens and helps place qualified internal and external candidates into open positions. Maintains professional relationships with appropriate search firms in order to insure an adequate candidate pool. Ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory guidelines (i.e. AA,EEO,FLSA,ADA,etc.).REQUIRED PRIOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS: Experience in a labor relations capacity which involved formulating, interpreting and explaining labor agreements, grievance issues and other labor relations activities. Understanding of recruitment procedures. Strong presentation, facilitation and problem solving skills. Outstanding listening and influencing skills; able to build trusting relationships with all levels of employees. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding HR issues. Experience in development and delivery of training programs. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations along with 3-5 experience.
