Human Resources Manager

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Human Resources Manager will oversee the Management of a US/ Mexico border facility consisting of approximately 400+ associates, including approximately 200+ represented by Mexican State Union. He or she must be able to function in a fast paced, self-directed, multi-tasking environment as a result of lean concepts and just-in-time manufacturing programs to serve the customer. The Human Resources Manager will need hands on involvement as a result of creating necessary change in focus and approach to be a world class and best in class facilities employing the best people. The selected individual will be required to work with union associates and committees, as well as support a salaried workforce. The workforce consists of a number of salaried associates on US based payroll, knowledge of Mexican and US operating practices, payroll practices and business law is essential
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will be a change agent with 6+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience in a manufacturing organization; this must include a minimum of two years experience within a Maquiladora facility. He or she will need significant knowledge of Mexican law, including payroll requirements, benefits and working conditions. He or she must be experienced in union contract negotiation and administration, and must be effectively skilled in computer applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. In addition, the selected candidate must be bi-lingual in Spanish/English and have knowledge of use of HRIS databases
