JOB TITLE: Human Resources Manager
FACILITY: Colorado Convention Center, Denver, CO
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: General Manager
SUPERVISES: Human Resources Specialist, Special Projects Coordinator
FLSA STATUS: Salaried, Exempt


General Summary:

Manage all aspects of the Human Resources Department at the facility level on a day-to-day basis, consistent with corporate goals and policies. Oversee the entire operation to ensure all policies and procedures are being administered fairly and consistently throughout the facility.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Recruit, interview, and hire personnel
- Administer benefit plans
- Prepare and implement the Affirmative Action Program
- Represent Company and record employee claims filed with state and federal agencies (Colorado Civil Rights Division, EEOC)
- Counsel management on policy and procedures, employee relations, etc.
- Liaison between company and outside (attorney) law firm
- Administer state insurance plans (worker’s compensation and unemployment)
- Chair of CCC Safety Program
- Member of Company team in union negotiations
- Represent Company position in settlement of Union Grievances
- Conduct training for staff and supervisors in Human Resource related areas
- Administer employee separations from company; conduct exit interviews
- Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent work experience is required, emphasis in Human Resources, preferred
- Must have a minimum of 5 years benefits and personnel experience
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must posses basic computing skills
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of staff
- Arena/Facility/CVB experience helpful

Position may require long and variable hours, but generally is not subject to adverse working conditions.
