Human Resources Generalist
Interprets and administers bargaining unit contract, policies and practices. Responds to employee's and supervisor's/manager's questions relating to such.
Responsible for:
Manpower planning, including full-time recruitment, temporary agency placement, & applicant tracking. Employee movement and pay adjustments within the bargaining unit, including: layoff/recall/bumping procedure, shift preference list, postings, step increases/pay changes, 17-01 pay/tracking, generate/distribute seniority lists, etc. Hourly database tracking & analysis (13:01, 12:01 A & B, 13:02). Covering payroll process as a back-up when necessary. Grievance tracking.
Administers, conducts and maintains:
New hire 30, 60, & 90-day evaluations. 1st - day and 90-day orientations. Perfect attendance program. Personnel files for bargaining unit employees.
Participates and/or leads company events as necessary.
Performs other related duties as required for the efficient operation of the department, or as directed by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management with three to five years of HR experience (preferably in a union environment) or equivalent.
Strong analytical skills and ability to perform mathematical computations.
Experience in hiring and familiarity with EEOC requirements.
Knowledge and proficiency in Word and Excel.
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task.
Face to face customer service experience must be able to handle a variety of situations with tact, professionalism and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Manufacturing experience preferred
