Human Resources Director MR0858 Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, Newport News, Virginia Reporting to the Lab's Chief Operating Officer, the HR Director works as a member of the Lab's management team to plan and deliver outstanding performance in all areas of personnel management in support of the Lab's scientific mission. The incumbent will develop a strategic plan for the HR Department that optimizes the delivery of the full range of personnel services to approximately 700 Lab managers and staff. Responsibilities of the position include cultivating effective working relationships with Lab managers and staff, planning and executing programs and initiatives, proposing and developing personnel policies and best practices, facilitating the development of institutional staffing and succession plans, problem solving, and supervision of the HR staff. TJNAF is a world class nuclear physics research facility funded by the Department of Energy. Minimum Qualifications: Applicable graduate education and 10 years of substantive experience in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Human Resources. In-depth knowledge of employment law, leadership and planning skills, professional experience and strength in Employee Relations, strong communication and collaboration skills, analytical and assessment skills, conflict resolution and problem solving skills, and the ability to present top quality briefings to various audiences.
