Human Resource Manager

GAF Materials Corporation, North America’s largest roofing manufacturer with 27 plants nationwide, is growing. We are seeking talented individuals who are interested in outstanding employment opportunities.

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Manager for our facility located in Shafter, CA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this individual will be responsible for all aspects of the Human Resources function at the Shafter plant.

This is a high-profile, hands-on position with substantial influence via a strong emphasis on action, training, and results. This individual will be responsible for the following:

•Administration of company compensation & benefits programs
•Conducting staffing activities, new hire orientation, & training
•Implementing company and plant initiatives & policies, assuring compliance with federal and state labor laws
•Leading organizational development needs assessment, action plans, & coordination.
•Conducting training
•Facilitating investigation & resolution of employee suggestions & concerns
•Coaching plant leadership team regarding supervisory skills, employee relations, policies, & performance management
•Leading the union prevention plan
•Coordinating plant interactions with corporate HR, Legal, Benefits Administrators, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field with 4-6 years experience as an HR Manager or Generalist in a manufacturing environment. Master’s is degree a plus.

Additional desired qualifications include:
•Formal training in labor law and worker’s compensation
•Excellent organizational skills
•Certified DDI trainer a plus
•PHR or SPHR Certification a plus
•Must be willing to relocate
