HR Manager
Position Summary:
Responsible for designing, planning, and implementing human resources programs and policies, including: staffing, benefits, employee relations, training, and health and safety programs. This position relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the company's business goals.Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer, process and maintain the company benefits program. Recruit, interview, hire and conduct orientation for employees in all positions. Handle disciplinary actions and terminations. Conduct exit interviews. Train employees on safety issues and any changes to company policies. Provide advice and counsel as appropriate to employees and management personnel concerning employee relations issues. Maintain employee records. Review and evaluate safety training materials. Write and communicate store policies regarding personnel issues. Perform back-up functions for payroll processing. Other duties as assigned.This is an HR office of ONE. Routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Work area is typically low noise level. Position requires the ability to: sit for an extended period of time, use hands and fingers, reach with arms and hands, hear and talk to communicate, taste or smell, see clearly at all distances, visually identify and distinguish colors, use peripheral vision, and judge distances and spatial relationships.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Experience/Education: Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university required. 3-6 years of directly related experience required. HR management in a union environment desired. Fluency in Spanish desired.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Basic arithmetic required. Ability to listen effectively, read and understand information, and display excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess the ability to learn and problem-solve. Must be creative and original in thoughts and ideas.
Personal Characteristics:
Dependable, self-starter who approaches work with a constructive, resourceful attitude. Must possess strong customer service skills and use good judgment when dealing with situations. Must be service oriented and have the ability to lead a group and/or function effectively within a group.
