HR Generalist

Amazon.com is looking for a HR Generalist for our new Customer Service Call Center in Kennewick, WA. The HR Generalist will focus on employee relations including benefits and compensation issues, leaves of absence, performance management, wage/hour issues, and assist with recruitment and retention activities. The HR Generalist will be an integral part of the HR team. This individual must take a hands-on approach and be comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees. Job responsibilities will include: Provide coaching, training and mentorship to the management team; assist associates with problem resolution; develop and implement employee surveys and questionnaires, including exit interviews; support internal customers to assure that questions and concerns are being addressed; develop and implement new policies, procedures, and programs as directed; Assure all employment regulations are met and manage employment liability for the organization; proactive resource to the recruiting and training managers; Resource to escalate payroll and policy issues appropriately; act as a liaison between Area Managers and associates to resolve issues; assist HR Manager with employee relations issues, recognition events, and special projects; manage and maintain workers' comp claims; participate in new-hire orientation for policies/resource; manage leaves of absence in accordance with Amazon.com policy and federal and state laws; manage, track, and trend termination and turnover data and reports; conduct training, develop management and associate training; generate reports for the HR Manager relating to all HR issues; staying current with issues and concerns related to the work environment; practice proactive union avoidance activities; and support customer service initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree; 4 or more years of experience in HR management in a hourly environment; proficiency with PeopleSoft HRIS system; knowledge of federal and state employment laws; benefits and payroll knowledge; strong employee relations experience; and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
