This plant is non union plant. The HR Generalist is a key contributor to profitable plant growth with the following responsibilities:
Provides guidance and counsel to plant leader and NLT in support of the business plan including leadership development and succession planning
Provides a vision of growth by anticipating labor needs due to fluctuations in business
Acts as the key interface with employees
Conducts annual local wage survey, analyzes results and works with management on any applicable wage changes
Manages new hire orientation process (including safety orientation)
Provides expert guidance and leadership of the salaried and hourly performance management process including consistent and timely performance reviews
Initiates salary and leads hourly staffing effort including interview coordination and reference checks
Manages temporary labor needs in a cost efficient manner and analyzes agency options for the highest quality support
Leads plant diversity efforts including community service projects
Ensures the plant stays in compliance in the areas of employment law, affirmative action, NLRB, FMLA, STD, other government sanctioned areas and with OC policies.
Coordinates weekly payroll, coordinates hourly salary planning to ensure correct and timely hourly pay increases, maintains Peoplesoft records & processes PS reports
Leads annual open enrollment including communication of C&B hourly and salary, and healthcare programs, and acts as a liaison with on-going C&B issues
Responsible for interpretation and review of plant policy / procedures, and consistent application
Conducts turnover analysis and makes recommendations for improvement
Coordinates Workers Compensation and Short Term Disability policies, procedures and programs
Ensure compliance to TS 1649 requirements for HR
Responsible for the development of and adherence to a plant wide training and development program for all employees
Acts as a key Safety Leader in the facility and is held accountable along with the Natural Leadership Team for ensuring a safe work environment, including accurate and timely accident/near miss investigations, safety orientations and training
Works with division Safety Leader and appropriate support to ensure up to date Physical Demand’s Analyses are completed
As a member of the Plant Leadership Team/Natural Leadership Team responsible for implementing two process improvement/cost reduction programs per year and completing one job hazard analysis per quarter
Recruiting efforts: referral bonus program, marketing open positions, open house/job fairs, newspaper ads, labor resources and sourcing
Tracks attendance and administers the Attendance Policy and applicable disciplinary actions/processes and adverse impact on business.
Coordinates annual employee engagement survey process and works with management to implement and oversee action plans for improved engagement and their impact on business results.
REQUIREMENTS
4 year degree (HR preferred)
PHR certification ideal
3-5 years of experience in HR for a manufacturing organization
Highly accomplished in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer.
