Job Overview:
The role of this position is to oversee, support and coordinate all of the Employee Communications vehicles that serve National Semiconductor's internal audiences worldwide. The Employee communication manager will work with site communicators, HR professionals corporate communications personnel to develop & deploy communication programs and processes throughout the Company. This position is responsible for day-to-day tasks to support various ongoing Employee Communications vehicles, including gathering, evaluating and assimilating key information and feedback from around the company, writing or editing articles for Web posting or publication, developing or sourcing imagery or graphics as needed, and more.
The Employee Communication Manager will be an internal communication consultant for business leaders launching new programs/initiatives or introducing organizational change.
Specific responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining business partnerships and creating communication plans for various client groups within the company
Consulting with employee groups in remote National Semiconductor locations and directing Employee Communications activities in those locations, as needed
Managing a network of Site Communicators from around the world to gather information and feedback from remote locations, to direct worldwide Employee Communications, when appropriate, and to help disseminate key messages to global audiences.
Devising other print-based, Web-based, or live-meeting tools and vehicles to meet ad hoc or ongoing communication needs
Consulting in the development (and assisting in the execution) of special crisis communications plans
Overseeing content for Employee Communications vehicles (including the intranet home page, N-News monitor network, mass email messages, company-wide communication meetings, etc.) by sorting and refining story ideas and content, innovating story topics, proofing content and following any necessary review processes for content approval
Developing and authoring stories, articles, email messages, brochures, slides, etc.
Helping to maintain the intranet home page by reviewing content to keep information current and driving any ongoing design or layout changes
REQUIREMENTS
Experience Requirements:
The right candidate must have a minimum of BS in Communications or other business related degree (MS preferred) with 8+ years of experience in a corporate employee communications role. Must have demonstrated ability to manage change and be a change management agent in a global environment.
