Director of Human Resources

POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversees the Human Resources function for ProStep to include Human Resources Planning, Employee Relations, Disciplinary Policy and Procedure Administration, Training, and Salary and Wage Administration. Serves as a resource/consultant to management ensuring that policies and procedures are clear and applied fairly and consistently.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

HUMAN RESOURCES PLANNING

• Maintains a comprehensive succession and high potential assessment system

• Monitors and ensures that performance appraisals are conducted and personal development plans are developed for the management staff

COMPENSATION

• Working with the Vice President of Human Resources, maintains a comprehensive salary administration program. This includes monitoring all salary ranges, and the competitiveness of wage programs.

• Drafts proposals for adjustments to wage programs


EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

• Ensures that each facility rehab team has an employee relations program which includes such aspects as union avoidance

• Ensures that annual Employee Surveys are conducted and develops and communicates appropriate action plans to correct areas of concern

• Where appropriate, works with the Senior Labor Counsel on union matters as needed.

• Reviews disciplinary actions, as needed. Participates in the following disciplinary events: extension of probation period, placing employees on probation, investigatory suspensions, terminations

• Serves as a resource to employees with respect to employee appeals of unresolved problems, and ensures that the employee complaint procedure is followed

• Conducts site audits to ensure compliance with various local, state, federal laws and company procedures and to determine the extent of any employee relations issues. Reviews audits with FRCs to determine what corrective actions should be taken

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

• Working with Corporate Training, develops and conducts training programs as requested

SPECIAL DUTIES

• Working with the Corporate Human Resources Department, facilitates the transition of new centers into EHSI policies and procedures, as appropriate

• Participates in various corporate projects as assigned

• Supervises the Compliance Administrators to ensure all human resources, benefits, and payroll information is communicated timely and accurately, as well as resolving any issues related to these areas
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Human Resources or related field
• At least five years Human Resources experience, preferably in long term care or with a multi-site employer
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred
• Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
