Director of Human Resources

The Director of Human Resources manages Casino Human Resources department and provides technical assistance to boards, committees and management in areas such as employment, evaluation, employee training, wages/salaries, benefits, administration, and labor relations. Supervises human resources employees. Manages Human Resources budget. Serves as a member of the Executive Team.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• B.A. in HR, Business Administration or related field, and
• Five years of human resources management experience, and
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of employment law, employee benefit programs, salary structures, management development and employee relations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate-level computer skills.
• Good organizational abilities and a customer service mindset.
• Willingness and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to sit for extended lengths of time.
• Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
• Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.

DUTIES:
• Manages Casino Human Resources department and employees.
• Forecasts staffing needs.
• Oversees Casino recruiting activities.
• Creates new policies and procedures.
• Does annual salary survey.
• Develops and maintains job descriptions.
• Designs and facilitates use of evaluation system.
• Oversees compliance and maintenance of personnel records.
• Oversees employee training and development programs.
• Handles sexual harassment investigations.
• Works with Executive Team on organizational development.
• Selects employee benefit providers and manages benefit administration.
• Functions as labor relations manager.
• Reviews exit interviews and makes suggestions to increase employee retention.
• Participates in new employee orientation program.
• Works with Security on employee safety issues.
• Guarantees compliance with Casino grievance procedures and drug and alcohol policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
