Description:
Direct and influence all members of Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, HRIS, and Payroll to successfully accomplish department and corporate business goals and objectives, and provide a full range of human resources services to all U.S. based employees.
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations relative to compensation, benefits, employment, payroll and worker’s compensation.
Partner with, and provide assistance, to the VP Human Resources on HR initiatives to integrate and align HR initiatives in support of defined strategies; and develop common tools, approaches and processes.
Provide consultation, guidance and leadership to the HR team, and business managers and leaders to address, and identify solutions for issues affecting employees, and ensure visibility of related workforce and HR issues, risks and opportunities.
Share knowledge and insight about strategic Human Resources industry trends and provide input into business decisions based on employment/labor rulings, area human resource intelligence, communications, and surveys.
Serve as a consultant to the HR team in resolving complex employee relations issues and ensure that issues are handled promptly, accurately and equitably. Apprise the VP Human Resources of any pending legal issues, and monitor the resolution progress.
Ensure the implementation of strategies to address critical staffing issues.
Oversee the coordination and implementation of tracking and reporting mechanisms to monitor, analyze, and report to the HR management team, the costs, data, statistics and trends associated with workforce management.
Develop and implement policies and procedures affecting the workplace.
Represent the company in various forums (meetings, hearings, professional associations, and internal and external presentations).
Report and facilitate corrective action regarding non-conformance and policy and procedures deviation, based on data residing within functional jurisdiction.
Develop and assist in the implementation of staffing reviews, succession plans, and human resource development plans.
Provide direction and guidance in the development, selection and management of training programs that enhance business managers’ knowledge and skills in human resources management methods, and practices, including interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, harassment, and other areas as needed to ensure compliance with company policies, and federal and state regulations.
Coach and mentor direct reports and provide career development opportunities through active recruitment, training, and quality management activities.
Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within department.
Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies of the Company.
Requirements:
Summary of Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
MBA preferred.
Minimum twelve to fifteen years progressive, strategic and tactical human resources management experience.
Minimum ten years experience in a related supervisory or managerial role.
Demonstrated breadth of experience and knowledge of human resources practices and processes (benefits, compensation, employee relations, employment (including staffing and recruiting), payroll, training, administration, time and attendance).
Knowledge of strategic planning, human capital strategy, and organizational development.
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans.
Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, presentation and negotiating skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills, both in influencing a complex organization, and in managing human resources, compensation, benefits, HRIS and payroll departments.
Demonstrated success as proactive, trusted advisor and thought leader in the organization.
Able to work in and bring structure to ambiguous environments.
In-depth knowledge of company policies and procedures, and all federal and state laws and regulations related to compensation, benefits, employment, payroll and worker’s compensation.
Strong bias for action and demonstrated ability to drive assignments to closure within stated schedules.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and related job specific software applications.
Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
Licenses and Certifications
