West Valley Hospital is a 104-bed, acute care hospital located in Goodyear, AZ affiliated with Abrazo Health Care. In addition to West Valley Hospital, Abrazo Health Care includes Phoenix Baptist Hospital, Phoenix Memorial Hospital, Maryvale Hospital, Arrowhead Hospital and Paradise Valley Hospital. Abrazo Health Care also owns and operates five TMC Advanced Imaging Centers and the Phoenix Health Plan (a Medicaid AHCCCS plan).
THE POSITION
The Director Human Resources establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises staff, as well as work flow. Position has budgetary/fiscal accountability. Provides for the ongoing effective operation of the Human Resources department deliverables and leadership to support the hospital’s mission, vision, goals and objectives. Develops and interprets policies and administers: employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits and training. In smaller facilities, this position may be responsible for other departments, as assigned. Will serve on the Executive Leadership Council.
REQUIREMENTS
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are essential job accountabilities:
·Participates in initiatives to change the systems, structure, or talent mix of the organizations to more effectively support the organization's strategic strategy.
·Supervises staff towards achieving the human resources deliverables with accuracy and timeliness.
·Financially manages salaries and supplies budgetary planning, equipment/supplies procurement and expense monitoring towards cost effectiveness and increased efficiencies.
·Participates in patient, employee and physician satisfaction improvement initiatives through the organization's Hospitality initiatives toward increased employee retention and recruitment.
·Ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements with HRIS, personnel files, and applicant software systems.
·Administers the compensation program to ensure compliance, ability to attract candidates and equity within the organization.
·Manages employee conflicts within the organization by mediating or facilitating resolution of differences to build relationships and advises management in appropriate resolution.
·Coordinates management and employee training and orientation in HR issues, regulatory requirements, employment law and employee and labor relations.
·Oversees the administration of the benefit programs.
·Communicates with employees at all levels regarding performance improvement, providing necessary focus, guidance and direction for verbal and written performance communications.
·Supervises the Human Resources staff towards their professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:
·A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field. (Master’s degree preferred).
·Five (5) years experience in human resources management.
·PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.
