Benefits Specialist (Insurance)

Division#: 43-0010Division Name: Human ResourcesJob Categories: Human ResourcesJob Responsibilities: Inputs benefits information for new hires in the MAXHRTM database. Updates MAXHRTM database with benefit record changes. Ensures that insurance database is electronically filed on a timely basis. Ensures that the database is ready for export to Payroll. Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits on the benefits hotline. Resolves benefit questions from employees. Conducts new hire orientations, as needed. Assists the Benefits Director with special projects. Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.Education/Experience High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certification; Attention to detail and excellent telephone skills; PC proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel; Strong customer service orientation; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; and Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or business administration/HR experience; and experience in benefits administration.
