A very stable and growing company with annual revenues of over $1 billion is looking to hire a Benefits Manager.Reporting to the Director of Human Resources Information Systems, the Benefits Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations that includes implementation, administration, and communication of the Company’s health & welfare, pension and 401(k) plans; administer plans consistent with company objectives and strategy; ensure that all plans are in compliance with federal and state regulations; manage and evaluate multiple benefit plan providers/carriers.Responsibilies include:
•Oversee administration and enrollment of benefit and welfare plans.
•Manage carriers and brokers and negotiate coverages, services and pricing to health & welfare plans. Manage vendors that support administration of pension and savings plans.
•Evaluate and oversee current and prospective health & welfare, pension, savings plan design. Gather information to assist in benefits planning. Monitor benefit plan costs.
•Ensure plans comply with federal and state regulations and reporting requirements.•Manage a staff of two direct reports.
•Respond to inquires relating to benefit and welfare plans. Generate and distribute a variety of standard and complex reports and statistical summaries as required.
•Manage employee data and benefit information within the HRIS and payroll system. Maintenance of benefit files/updates to records.
•Coordinate benefits efforts to develop report and interface specifications. Work with the IT technical team to deliver a high quality product in the most efficient manner.
•Administer various employee benefit programs for employees, ensuring proper documentation and reporting requirements are made. This includes COBRA requirements, and welfare plans. Process department charge-backs and billings as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the following:•BA/BS in business with Human Resources emphasis or equivalent work experience. CEBS or equivalent designation a plus.
•At least seven years experience in managing health & welfare/retirement plans
•Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding benefit programs
•Supervisory experience including management of outsourcing vendors
•Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
•Proven project management skills: excellent planning, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, and organization skills.
•Excellent communication skills and computer skills.
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information handled.
