Based at its operations campus in Richmond, Virginia, the Manager, Benefits Analysis will support the strategy, planning and design of financial, retirement and health and welfare programs, with a particular focus on design, cost management, and acquisition integration. The Benefits Manager will interface extensively with other corporate finance, legal, operations and human resources partners across all company locations, and will be responsible for conducting detailed benefits cost and utilization analysis, as well as leading complex benefit integration projects. The Benefits Manager will report to the Sr. Manager, Benefits and will partner closely with the Manager of Retirement Plans and the Manager of Health and Welfare Plans.
Benefits Analysis Manager
Design associate/executive retirement and health & welfare plans.
Lead the planning and execution of all benefits integration activities due to mergers or acquisitions.
Benchmark against competitive plan designs, assess Capital One’s programs and recommend appropriate design initiatives within the realities of today’s cost constraints.
Assess the impact of key legislative and tax changes that impact the benefit plans.
Conduct benefit plan cost and utilization analysis and identify opportunities for change. Calculate annual benefit rates.
Participate in and lead cross-functional teams focusing on topics such as health and welfare plan funding, health management initiatives, and flexible benefit offerings.
Prepare recommendations for corporate leadership approval, utilizing both internal partners (legal, finance, etc.) as well as external consultants, where needed.
Support rate renewals with healthcare vendors and company-wide outsourcing proposals.
Prepare benefits monitoring reports and other analytical reports that are meaningful to the function.
REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred.
5-7 years of increasingly responsible benefits experience with multi-national companies (corporate and/or consulting).
Experience in leading teams of direct and/or indirect reports in a matrixed work environment.
Strong knowledge of ERISA, benefits laws and regulations.
Understanding of best practices in benefits design and compliance.
Experience with program start ups, terminations and mergers.
Strong project management, prioritization and organization skills.
Strong "internal consulting" and influencing skills.
Strong analytical skills including financial modeling and analysis.
Ability to work under pressure within short time constraints.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of HRIS (PeopleSoft), compensation preferred.
High proficiency with MS Office required.
