The Special Procedures Technologist will:
The Special Procedures Technologist in the Cardiac Cath Lab is accountable to perform safe, timely and accurate radiologic procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including invasive studies for diagnostic, therapeutic and operative purposes.
Performs procedures on patients and is conscious of radiation exposure and contrast media use.
Able to work in the Operating Room, utilizing the C-arm. Communicates instructions to patients pertaining to examinations and preps, in an accurate and caring manner.
Prepares and administers necessary contrast materials under the direction of the Radiologist/Cardiologist.
Recognizes patient conditions warranting immediate attention and responds appropriately.

Special Procedures Technologist must possess the following:
Must be a graduate (2 year minimum) of an AMA-approved school of radiology technology and be registered with the American Registry of Radiologist Technologists.
Must be experienced in the use of special procedures equipment and the handling of trauma cases and critical patients.
CPR and ACLS certification required.
