Experience Requirements: Prefer completion of a surgical instrument technician program.Prepares, processes surgical instruments and other medical equipment. Utilizes principles of aseptic technique, understands and follows the decontamination p/p. Maintains and utilizes sterilizing disinfector machine for instrument processing with use of chemicals. Maintains quality control records, tests for gluteraldehyde routinely and follows quality assurance protocol. Distributes specimens to lab. Prepares stocks and keeps track of bronchoscopy carts. Responsible for ordering supplies and stocking inventory. Utilizes computer for department specific supply pick lists/ goods and returns. Reports damage scopes and equipment, notifies appropriate vendor for repair and maintenance. Will be on call 24/7 to maintain and process scopes on a need be basis or in the event of an emergency.Job Requirements
