Mesa General Hospital, located in the Valley of the Sun, in Mesa, Arizona opened in 1965 and is licensed for 126 beds. We are a full service hospital known for our outstanding cardiology and cardiovascular surgery procedures, including a cardiac catherization lab and a chest pain center in our emergency room. Our hospital was one of the first hospitals in the valley to utilize a robotic surgical system for some of the advanced surgical procedures. There is a busy ER, strong surgery programs and advanced diagnostic imaging services for in-patients and out-patients.
Mesa's Womens Center provides a wide array of services and educational classes, labor and delivery suites, cesarean section rooms and a Level II nursery.
Our nurses provide direct and indirect patient care, while communicating with Physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Our nurses are able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

REQUIREMENTS
Responsible for the direction of all patient care activities in the ICU/CCU.
*Consults with staff, physicians and the Nurse Executive on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.
*Supports and empowers staff to embrace the mission and value statements of the hospital.
*Directs and participates in the human resource management function for the department by coordinating the selection, promotion, orientation, scheduling and performance appraisal and management processes.
*Functions as liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers.
*Maintains records pertinent to unit personnel and operation of the department. Prepares reports as required regarding services, utilization, performance improvement, service data, outcome data, productivity, including long term capital budget and short term operational budget.
*Provides education to staff on performance improvement. Ability to plan and organize orientation and inservice training for department staff members; participates in guidance and educational programs.
*Ensures payroll is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner and Ensures productivity standards are met consistently.
*Studies current trends and developments in Cardiac nursing through current literature and professional society.
*Thorough knowledge of JCAHO patient care regulations.
*Requires 3-5 years prior nursing management experience in Critical Care with emphasis on cardiac care/
*Prior experience working in a for profit environment preferred.
*Current AZ RN license, and CPR & ACLS certifications.
*BSN required, masters preferred.
