Psychiatric Technician
Department: Behavioral HealthSchedule: PRN (On-Call As Needed)Shift: Variable nightsHours: 7 pm to 7 amJob Details: Works under the supervision of Nurse Coordinator and RN, monitoring psychiatric patients and reporting and recording patient observation. Provides direct patient care relating to activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, comfort activities, etc. as allowed. Executes physician/treatment modalities. Observes, gathers and reports pertinent information and then maintains the patient clinical record. Initiates and facilitates 1:1 sessions with assigned patients. Co-facilitates unit community meetings and attends assigned groups as appropriate. Leads quality patient education classes as assigned. Qualifications: High school or GED; prefer Associates degree or equivalent in social sciences. CNA or medical experience required. Psych experience preferred. Some weekends required. Some nights possible. Maintains strict patient confidentiality and ethical boundaries as outlined in the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Act. Able to stand, sit, or work for long periods of time, able to lift/transfer/carry at least 50lbs. Demonstrate positive interpersonal relations when working with patients, families, guests, physicians, co-workers, other departments, and management.
