Pharmacy Technician II - Prescription Entry

Must have current State Board of Pharmacy licensure and must possess current pharmacy technician certification





Receives patient prescription order form and payment from order services. Enters alphabetic, numeric or symbolic data from prescription order forms into computer in accordance with departmental standards and procedures. Verifies data on screen against data on source documents. Accurately reads and enters prescription information into the system. Assists the Pharmacist with phone calls, participant services and therapeutic interventions when necessary. Cross-trains with duties of pharmacy filling technicians. Ability to accurately read and interpret prescriptions; to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; to compute rates, ratios, percents and interpret bar graphs. Must have current State Board of Pharmacy licensure and must possess current pharmacy technician certification.


High school diploma or GED required.


Minimum of one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital or PBM setting preferred.
